This is another Amazon Original. It is a hit or miss. You either will love it or hate it. Unfortunately, this show lost steam quite quickly. The first season is intriguing, but it seems as though the writers of the show are coming up empty for new ways to make the show jaw-dropping.
The show focuses on a talented maestro named Rodrigo, who is really lost in life and ambitious simultaneously. He is asked to join the New York Symphony and bring it back from the grave it was laying in. However, Rodrigo is fighting demons of his own, much like his ex-wife–a famous ludicrous violinist–and trying to make a name for himself.
The show twists in the life of a struggling oboist named Hailey, and compares it nicely to Rodrigo, so the audience can get a two-point perspective from a maestro and a musician. There is a lot of drama, a lot of heartbreak, and real life concerns that mimic the issues dedicated musicians still face in today’s modern-loving music world.
Check it out onAmazon. There are three seasons so far, but the first episode will definitely suck you into the world of competitive classical music.
